1. CAT (Common Admission Test)

CAT is the most popular MBA entrance exam in India conducted by the IIM’s. It is accepted by top B-schools including the IIM’s and many more such as FMS, SPJIMR, MDI etc. The exam tests candidates on Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Since CAT is highly competitive, scoring well can open doors to some of the best institutes.

2. XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, XAT is another major MBA entrance exam. It is accepted by XLRI Jamshedpur and many more such as XIMB Bhuvaneshwar, SP Jain, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI etc. The exam pattern is similar to CAT but includes an additional section on Decision Making, which evaluates analytical and ethical reasoning skills.

3. NMAT (Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test)

NMAT, conducted by GMAC, is the entrance exam for NMIMS and other B-schools like KJ Somaiya, ISB (for its executive program), SP Jain (for some courses) etc. What makes NMAT unique is that it is an adaptive exam which makes it unique.

4. SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)

SNAP is the entrance test for Symbiosis International University (SIU), which includes institutes like SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, SIIB etc. The exam has a relatively simpler pattern compared to CAT and XAT, making it a good option for candidates looking for well-reputed institutes with moderate difficulty levels.

5. CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)

CMAT, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is accepted by B-schools like JBIMS, Great Lakes, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar etc. The exam is easier than CAT but requires strong conceptual understanding in Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).

6. MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)

MH-CET (also known as MAH MBA CET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Maharashtra government for admission into top B-schools like JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, Welingkar, KJ Somaiya etc. The exam is relatively easy compared to CAT and consists of Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Unlike other exams, there is no negative marking, making it a great option for maximizing your score.

7. MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

MAT is a low-difficulty MBA entrance test accepted by many private B-schools across India. It is conducted multiple times a year and offers flexibility in exam mode (paper-based, computer-based, or internet-based). If you’re looking for decent MBA colleges without intense competition, MAT can be a good choice.
