What is IBPS PO Exam?

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Recruitment exam is the national level exam for the candidates for recruitment in the Public Sector Banks in the country based on the Selection Process set by the official exam conducting authority. Various banks recruit candidates based on the result of the IBPS Recruitment exam.

The IBPS Clerk National Level Written Exam takes place in two phases: Prelims and Mains. All the candidates who qualify the preliminary examination get shortlisted and become eligible to appear for the Main examination. Post this round, the candidates who qualify are shortlisted for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 

IBPS Exam 2024 Exam Notification and Overview
The notification for IBPS Exam 2024 is expected to be released shortly. It will provide detailed information regarding the number of vacancies in various participating banks across India, along with the category-wise distribution for General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS candidates. IBPS PO Eligibility 2024

The candidates can see below the IBPS PO Eligibility as mentioned in the official notification. The IBPS PO eligibility can be classified into the following components.

  • 1. Nationality
    To apply for the IBPS PO exam, a candidate must be:

    • A citizen of India, or
    • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
    • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intent of settling permanently, or
    • A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries like Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, intending to settle permanently in India.

    If you belong to the categories 2, 3, or 4, you need a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

    2. Age Limit
    To be eligible for IBPS PO, candidates must be between 20 and 30 years old. The candidate must be born between 2nd August 1994 and 1st August 2004 (both dates inclusive).
